Rachel is the current Vice President of the NZARBP, and holds the Marketing, PR and Beauty Awards Portfolio. With over 18 years experience in the industry, Rachel has built a successful career as a multi award winning therapist and business owner.  Titles such as NZ Therapist of the Year 2011/2012 and NZ Clinic of the Year, Runner Up 2013/2014 see her held in high regard by her industry peers.

 Rachel now focuses her time formulating and growing her own skin care brand. Rachel is passionate about sharing her knowledge, helping business owners create successful businesses and inspiring younger therapists to succeed in having an amazing, rewarding career.

 New Zealand born Florence Barrett-Hill is an internationally recognised dermal science educator, practitioner, researcher, and author with a vast experience covering all aspects of professional aesthetic therapy and paramedical skin care.

With wide experience from owning and operating clinics, through to paramedical technical experience in the post operative care of burns survivors and plastic surgery patients and the formulation of skin care products, Florence is a uniquely talented industry practitioner who intimately knows her subject and is passionate about continually raising the standards of professional beauty therapy and skin care. Over the years, Florence has trained both generic and brand specific philosophies and understands the wide range of treatment modalities and their place in the industry. As a result, Florence is well respected by her industry peers for her 38+ years of knowledge she loves to share.

 Kim Ryan has been a make-up artist for 30 years.  She has a diploma in Film and Television make-up, which includes all aspects of make-up and hair design.

Kim's make-up career started in working for small theatres, and later went on to work for companies such as Estee Lauder and Christian Dior as a make-up and make-up trainer.  Kim has also worked extensively throughout NZ and Australia showing beauty therapist the benefits of working with mineral makeup.

Kim speciality is weddings and working with mature clients.

Kim is also a trained beauty therapist with 25years experience, working with in excess of 80 known brands.  Has travelled through her career continuing her education and developing a presence in the industry as a trainer, and business development manager.  She still continues to educate young budding therapists as a beauty therapy tutor at Premier Institute of education. 

In 2017 Kim decided that it was time to branch out into the industry further and start her own distribution skincare company bringing in advanced cosmeceuticals into the aesthetics and medical industry.

Oonagh's beauty therapy career has evolved through working in clinics, spas, running her own mobile business, including working on-board a cruise liner.
Education has been in the forefront since first accepting a 3 year contract as a beauty school Principal in Auckland, 27 years ago. Professional development in beauty and education, overseas and here in NZ has ensured a rewarding career.
Through teaching roles at various private beauty schools and Technical Institutes in Auckland, Oonagh has gained a wealth of experience.
Creating a great foundation,  guiding and supporting the new generation of beauty industry professionals is an exciting and rewarding pathway for our ever changing and growing industry.

Oonagh will be judging both the first and second round of judging, for the following category…

Christa has been a trained Beauty Therapist for over 30 years, during this time she has owned her own clinic, been a tutor and now working as a national educator.

After 21yrs of continued study, in multiple disciplines (predominantly- education and bio-chemistry, and ongoing studies in complementary health), Christa now focuses on her passion, the skin, it's structure and function, and teaching of others. Christa continues to enrich her life with an enthusiasm for the pursuit of knowledge. Her thirst for a deeper understanding of our body and its functions, ensures an ongoing dedication to a life long journey of professional development.

Margaret Walsh

 Margaret is a well know face in the NZ Beauty Industry, she has spent her career running a hugely successful clinic and inspiring others to do the same. She was an integeral part of the NZARBP Executive Committee for many years.

 Margaret’s passion for education and learning have played a big part in her success with helping clients –she believes that life is about continual learning. As a Business Coach ; Margaret’s skills in organising and motivating people are put to good use, and she has a strong desire to support the small business’s success. Margaret now spends her time between running her clinic, consulting as a business coach and teaching others the importance of correct skin diagnosis with her skin analysis imaging device.

Margaret will be judging both the first and second round of judging, for the following categories…

 Maxim has a long background as a beauty entrepreneur. In 1997 she started out with a concept nail salon in Manukau . The big idea was to franchise and open a chain of nail salons across New Zealand. 

At the time the nail industry was ‘one-man bands’,” Maxim says. “I saw an opportunity to help the industry lift its game and become more professional.  I created a business plan, and then learnt how to do beautiful nails”. I went onto owning the largest nail salon in New Zealand and then distributing and educating for several top American Brands, before creating my own.  A New Zealand brand, with a strong focus on natural  organic and education.

Although Maxim’s start in nail technology was less than traditional, Maxim still loves doing beautiful nails. I just love making people happy. There is real joy in making people look and feel more confident.  Her nails passion is now focused on education, and passing my love for nails and business onto others, enabling them to follow their dreams.

 Originally beauty therapy trained, hair and make up artist Rachel started her career for television with the BBC in London. She then went to work at Pinewood and Elstree studios in the UK on film work for a few years.  Moving to New Zealand in 2011 with her young family meant Rachel then moved onto mainly bridal work. She quickly built up a large client base from simply word of mouth. Clients began to request this artist for her skills not only in hair and make up but in beauty treatments too.

Rachel has also worked alongside some of Aucklands top photographers for headshot's, shoots and music videos. She is also an NVQA qualified tutor. She teaches hair and makeup regularly to flight attendants at The International Travel College as well as many private personal lessons.

Rachel will be judging both the first and second round of judging, for the following category…

 With 33 years experience in the industry, Julie brings a wealth of knowledge, as well as working as a beauty therapist and lectrologist/thermologist, she has also been a tutor,  a technical adviser for an  international skin care company,  and had 4 very successful clinics of her own.

 Julie spent 2 ½ years as the NZARPB’s complaint’s and liaison officer. It was her role to liaise with DHB’s and councils around NZ and  was responsible for inspecting nail bars and writing hygiene reports, recommendations and protocols for DHB’s and councils. Julie wrote and make submissions on behalf of the Association to aid councils who were introducing Health and Hygiene bylaws. She also wrote the NZARPB’s new Health and Hygiene guidelines, provided articles for the NZ Beauty magazine on hygiene and assisted members to upgrade their clinics health and hygiene standards.
